A book report is a summary of selected books in a given course noting key points and their relevance to the course. It also notes the weaknesses of the books and areas it fails to give conclusive information. In other words, a book report is short summary of course books and materials that highlights their relevance to that specific subject. It prepares students for future tasks in writing research papers. Tutors use book reports to gauge students’ ability to evaluate course materials and use them to improve their skills in a given area.
